Short answer: canter seats from ₹2,200 per person are available now for Indian nationals, on the current quota (from ₹2,200) and the premium quota (from ₹3,200). Advance-quota seats cost ₹1,700 (canter) and ₹2,500 (gypsy), but they are sold out for most upcoming dates; send your date and we check. For a last-minute jeep, book a premium-quota gypsy seat from ₹5,500 per person, a whole premium gypsy at ₹36,000, or a tatkal gypsy from ₹36,000 for the whole six-seat vehicle. Foreign nationals pay more because the Forest Department charges them a higher fee. Every price is all-in: permit, vehicle and guide.

Prices by zone (when advance seats are sold out)

Per safari, all-in: permit, vehicle and guide. Seats: zones 6–10, core zones 1–5, or your choice of zone 2, 3 or 4. A whole jeep in the first column can be any zone 1–10. Groups with any foreign national pay the foreign price for a whole jeep. For a group, we always quote the cheaper of separate seats or a whole jeep.

There is no current quota for gypsy seats: the Forest Department discontinued it in October 2022. Advance seats open about 120 days ahead in seasonal windows, so once they are gone, a jeep at short notice comes from the premium quota (from ₹5,500 per seat or ₹36,000 for the whole gypsy) or the tatkal quota (from ₹36,000 for the whole gypsy).

Not sure which vehicle to pick? A jeep and a gypsy are the same open 4×4; jeep (gypsy) vs canter, compared. The canter is the seat you can book right now, and the easiest at short notice: canter safari details.

The four package tiers start at ₹7,999 (Economic), ₹13,499 (Standard), ₹21,999 (Luxury) and ₹54,999 (Ultra Luxury) per couple per night, at Indian-national safari fares. See what each package includes. If you only want a room, prices are on WhatsApp; browse Ranthambore hotels and resorts.

Forest Department fee vs our all-in price

Every seat is a permit from the Rajasthan Forest Department. Its fee is the same whoever you book through. Our price adds the vehicle, guide and our booking service on top. Booking direct on the official portal is cheaper, and we say so openly.

Seat (advance quota)Department fee on the portalOur all-in price
Canter seat, Indian nationalabout ₹990₹1,700
Gypsy seat, Indian nationalabout ₹1,610₹2,500
Canter seat, foreign nationalabout ₹2,400₹3,500
Gypsy seat, foreign nationalabout ₹3,025₹4,000

Department fees are as shown on the official portal on 13 October 2026, rounded. The difference pays for securing the seat, including sold-out and short-notice dates, WhatsApp support from 7am to 10pm, pickup coordination, and a full refund if the permit is not issued. Your quote shows the department's share and our service charge separately.

If your date shows seats and you are happy with the portal, book direct. Here is when the official site makes more sense, and when we do. For what a permit actually covers, read Ranthambore tickets explained.

Short-notice, current-quota and tatkal prices

"Sold out" on the portal usually means the advance quota is gone, and right now that is the case for most upcoming dates. The department releases more seats every day, and those later seats cost more.

Current quota: canter from ₹2,200

Released daily at 10:00 am for this afternoon and tomorrow morning. Canter seats only (there is no current quota for gypsies), ₹2,200 per person for Indian nationals and ₹4,500 for foreign nationals. Available now.

Tatkal gypsy: from ₹36,000 per jeep

Released daily at 11:00 am for the date seven days ahead. Whole gypsy only, six seats: from ₹36,000 for Indian nationals (about ₹6,000 each if six share) and ₹50,000 for foreign nationals. It suits families and groups. Non-refundable and non-transferable once booked.

Premium canter: from ₹3,200

Premium-quota canter seats are from ₹3,200 per person for Indian nationals and ₹5,500 for foreign nationals, and available now. Premium tatkal releases at 10:00 am and 6:00 pm for the date three days ahead come only from cancellations.

Premium gypsy: from ₹5,500 per seat

Premium-quota gypsy seats are from ₹5,500 per person for Indian nationals and ₹8,000 for foreign nationals, bookable at short notice when seats are available. A whole premium gypsy for up to six is ₹36,000 (₹46,000 for foreign nationals), less than a tatkal gypsy.

Foreign nationals

Every route is open to you at the department's higher foreign fee: canter from ₹4,500 (current) or ₹5,500 (premium), advance canter ₹3,500 and gypsy ₹4,000, premium gypsy seat from ₹8,000, whole premium gypsy ₹46,000 and tatkal gypsy from ₹50,000 per vehicle. We confirm the price on WhatsApp before you pay.

Children and ID rules

Children

Every guest who occupies a seat needs a permit and a photo ID, children included. Tell us each child's age and we quote the exact price for your group.

ID at the gate

Each guest needs the original government photo ID used on the permit. For Indians that is Aadhaar, passport, voter ID, PAN or driving licence. Foreign nationals need their passport. Screenshots and phone photos are not accepted.

We ask for names and ID numbers only when we book the permit, never through this website. Visiting from abroad? See Ranthambore safari for foreign nationals.

What the safari price does not include

Ranthambore Fort, inside the reserve, has its own access and does not need a safari permit.

Sold out online? Ask us. We book from the daily current and tatkal quotas, and you pay only after we confirm availability, with a full refund if the permit can’t be issued.

How payment works

One rule we cannot change: a Forest Department permit is non-refundable once issued, through any channel. A tatkal gypsy is non-refundable and non-transferable once booked. If the department cancels a drive, refunds follow its rules.
