Ten minutes from the tiger's gate. A heated pool of your own waiting when you get back.
Ten red-roofed villas stand around a stepped, sunken courtyard. You come in through a domed chhatri pavilion with a fountain. Inside are chequered marble floors, hand-painted banyan murals and a long pool shaped like a Rajasthani stepwell. It is new-built, calm and green, and made for slow afternoons between safaris.
The reason to choose this stay. A large ground-floor room whose glass doors open onto your own heated plunge pool, a stone water-spout wall and a private patch of lawn.
